Dengan mengucap puji dan syukur kehadirat Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, penyusunan Rencana Strategis Dinas Sosial dan Pemukiman Provinsi Papua dapat diselesaikan dengan baik. Renstra ini merupakan dokumen Perencanaan Pembangunan Jangka Menengah (5 Tahun) sebagai acuan dalam proses penyusunan program dan kegiatan tahunan.
Sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 25 Tahun 2004 tentang Sistem Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional dan Undang-Undang Nomor 32 Tahun 2004 tentang Pemerintahan Daerah, maka Dinas Sosial dan Pemukiman Provinsi Papua perlu menyusun Rencana Strategis Tahun 2013-2018 dimana Rencana Strategis ini memuat Visi, Misi, Kebijakan, Program, Sasaran dan Kegiatan yang disusun berdasarkan tugas pokok dan fungsi Dinas Sosial dan Pemukiman Provinsi Papua sesuai Peraturan Daerah Provinsi Papua Nomor 10 Tahun 2008 tentang Organisasi dan Tata KerjaDinas-Dinas Daerah Provinsi Papua.
Dengan tersusunnya dokumen Rencana Strategis ini, diharapkan menjadi pedoman dalam penyusunan rencana kerjata hunan Dinas Sosial dan Pemukiman dan dasar untuk evaluasi dan pelaporan pelaksanaan atas kinerja tahunan dalam mendukung kebijakan Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Provinsi Papua.
Demikian, kiranya dokumen Rencana Strategi sini dapat bermanfaat bagi Pemerintah Daerah, khususnya Dinas Sosial dan Pemukiman Provinsi Papua.
